What is Dual Slalom Racing?
Dual slalom is an older mountain bike discipline similar to 4x racing.
It consists of two racers racing two almost identical tracks next to each other down a slope. The courses are usually short; one run lasting about 30 seconds. It is filled with jumps, doubles and bermed turns. Both riders’ race both tracks, if the result is 1 each then riders will get a 3rd deciding race and slowest rider is eliminated. The winner moves on to the next round until they have 2 riders left racing in the final.
The idea for this style of racing is a fun entry level style event for people interested in trying out PDMBC events or simply want to race during the summer season. It doesn’t matter if you have a downhill bike, enduro bike, hard tail or a bmx, all are welcome to compete.
These events will be generally be held on a Saturday afternoon or Sunday afternoon if it is on a long weekend.
There is a junior category for 16 & under, a women’s open category & a men’s open category.
